Shahnaaz* was out cycling on a cycle path one sunny day with her husband when her wheel suddenly caught on a piece of wood buried in the ground by the path, causing her to come off her bike and break her ankle. What should have been an enjoyable day out was ruined.
Shahnaaz came to Truth Legal seeking compensation. The personal injury team at Truth Legal gathered evidence from witnesses and corresponded with the local authority responsible for the path, and their insurers. For much of the process the local authority denied liability but after obtaining medical evidence from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, showing the extent of Shahnaaz’s injuries, and compiling a schedule of her financial losses and expenses, Truth Legal started court proceedings to take the matter to trial if the local authority did not accept responsibility for the dangerously positioned piece of wood.
In the end, Tim secured £18,000 in compensation for Shahnaaz not long before the trial had been due to take place.
If you have suffered an accident in a public place and you think someone else or some organisation may have been at fault, Truth Legal may be able to help you recover compensation.
