James Ruttley

James joined Truth Legal in 2025 as an Immigration and Employment Paralegal before beginning their training contract later that year. They are currently working towards qualification as a solicitor.

Working across both the Immigration and Employment departments, James assists individuals and businesses with a range of legal matters. Their immigration work focuses primarily on partner visas and sponsor licence compliance, while in employment law they support clients with settlement agreements and Employment Tribunal claims.

James particularly enjoys building relationships with clients throughout the immigration process, learning about their backgrounds and helping them take the next step in their lives with confidence.

Outside of work, James has a keen interest in history and current affairs. They can often be found exploring Leeds on long walks while listening to podcasts and audiobooks.
