Frequently Asked Questions

You used to provide free advice on the telephone and in person. Why do you now charge?2023-01-14T16:38:56+00:00

Because we have become so popular that our employment team have been giving away so much free legal advice that we have made a loss offering an employment law service.

Cuts to advice centres and the decimation of Legal Aid have meant that solicitors offering free advice have become overwhelmed with requests for free advice. We still offer brilliant, free advice on our websites, including free legal templates.

We are increasing the amount of free legal advice that we provide online – so we are still providing lots of free advice.

Do you only deal with employment law cases in England and Wales?2023-01-14T16:36:41+00:00

Will I receive an invoice?2023-01-14T16:36:06+00:00

Yes. You will receive an invoice from us.

What happens if there is a conflict of interest?2023-01-14T16:33:49+00:00

If it turns out that we cannot act for you because, for example, we act for someone else involved in your case, then we cannot act for you and we will therefore return the monies to you.

Do I need to send you my ID?2023-01-14T16:32:34+00:00

Yes. You will become a client of our firm, just like any other client. We will need a copy of your driving licence or passport which you can send to us via email. We will perform a check of who you are.

Will I receive your terms and conditions?2023-01-14T16:31:59+00:00

Yes. We will send you our terms and conditions, known as a Client Care Letter. This explain what we are doing and what we are not doing for you.

Do you provide a written advice after the consultation?2023-01-14T16:31:01+00:00

Yes. We will provide a short, simple letter outlining what we discussed, setting out some options. This letter will take us 10 minutes to provide, which will come off the consultation time.

Can I buy more time after the 2 hours?2023-01-14T16:29:53+00:00

Yes. At the end of the two hours we will set out what future costs might be. We still offer No Win, No Fee agreements, fixed fees, affordable rates and we can often use your Legal Expenses Insurance at no, or little, cost to you.

Does the 2 hour appointment include reading of documents/emails/contracts etc?2023-01-14T16:28:09+00:00

Yes. You can use the 2 hour appointment as you like. If it is sensible that we read documents in advance of the meeting or during the meeting, then please send them to us before your meeting.

If it takes us 20 minutes to read the documents, then this will come off the two hours appointment time.

After the meeting we will provide a short letter which will take us around 10 minutes to produce. This 10 minutes will come off the 2 hour appointment time.
