Frances Ledbury

Frances began practising immigration law in 2004 and joined Truth Legal in November 2022. Frances now heads up the firm’s Hull Office.

With over two decades in immigration law, Frances has developed expertise across the full spectrum of Immigration, Nationality and Asylum matters. She works with both individuals and businesses but is particularly known for handling complex personal immigration cases and situations where clients have been told there is little or no prospect of success. Whether reuniting families, challenging difficult Home Office decisions or helping people secure their future in the UK, Frances is passionate about finding solutions and guiding clients through life-changing moments. Her experience, determination and practical approach means that very few cases are considered beyond help.

Frances has also advised on niche cases of Applications for Declarations of Presumed Death. This was borne from a situation her client was in, having been bereaved with no identifiable body and therefore death certificate, when the client could find no-one else to assist.

Alongside her personal immigration work, Frances is a trusted adviser to employers navigating the complexities of sponsor licences and migrant employment. She regularly supports businesses with sponsor licence applications, compliance issues and urgent immigration challenges, providing clear, practical advice when the stakes are high. Her approachable manner and results-driven approach have helped her build strong, long-standing relationships with clients and partners across the region.

One aspect of her work that Frances is particularly passionate about is supporting the wider community, working with partner organisations to improve understanding of domestic abuse support pathways and immigration-related issues, helping ensure people can access the right advice and assistance when they need it most.

Outside of work, Frances enjoys modern quilting, travelling and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys walking and running, although whether running truly counts as enjoyment remains a matter of debate.
